This sequence of pictures shows reefs being taken in one panel at a time. Our original sail, which had rectangular lower panels, could be reefed neatly and easily without adjusting the lazyjacks. However, all the panels in this sail are asymmetrical and so the lazyjacks need to be adjusted with each reef. At the moment the first and second reefs are fine but we need to experiment with the lazyjack setup to get neater deep reefing.
China Girl has dinghy-like characteristics when sailing and rapidly develops weather helm as the wind freshens. We take in the first reef at the high end of Force 3.
